Ellinbank’s boost

-

Ellinbank will look to back up last seasons efforts in the re-structured Ellinbank District Netball Association.

Ellinbank emerged as a powerhouse club on the netball court last year, emerging with premierships in all three senior grades.

Boosted by new courts at home, the club will be inspired in an attempt to back up its premiership wins under coach Taylah Bott.

Having finished last season in third place, Buln Buln could be their greatest challenger.

Coach Renee Cook has had the luxury of trying out players to fill spots in the side.

Despite losing a number of key players, NeerimNeerim South will be out to ensure the premiership is not simply a two-horse race.

The Cats will be aiming to go one step further and make the grand final in season 2017.

Kasey Tymkin has handed over the reins to Amy Heath to focus on her off-field leadership.

Warragul Industrials could field a young side following the loss of key A grade players.

Nilma-Darnum were competitive last season, losing many of its games by a narrow margin, but are also expected to rebuild following the loss of key players.

Catani continues the youth theme, with the Blues hoping for continual improvement from their young side. They will be guided by Leanne Smith, who has returned to the club following a coaching stint at Tooradin.

A new-look Longwarry will take to the court under head coach Yvonne Porter, who has been streamlining coaching practices and implementing a club wide game plan.

Intensity and competitiveness will be a focus as the Crows aim to climb the ladder.

Despite finishing 12th last season, Lang Lang remain confident of playing finals in the smaller league.

The Tigers’ A grade side remain largely unchanged, with the highly anticipated return of Wendy Thom.

Nyora is optimistic about the season ahead after recruiting enthusiastic young playing coach Holly Monaghan.

Monaghan comes to the Saints having coached the Gippsland Storm team.

Poowong will look for improvement under new playing coach Eliza Attenborough, with the narrow two-goal loss in last year’s B grade decider cause for optimism.
