Obituary

Bill Tatterson was recognised for his service to the community during a reflection on his life at a private funeral recently.

Born on July 14, 1945, Bill married Pat in 1967.

Together they had three children, Craig, Sean and Jacqueline. From there the family grew to include son-in-law Geoff, daughter-in-law Linda and grandchild­ren Stephanie, Jamie, Tynon, Kee-Arn and Aaron.

Bill achieved everything he wanted to do in his life.

He was a plumber out of the SEC and loved his sport, playing football for Trafalgar thirds and winning a premiershi­p with the Reserves in 1980.

Bill was a member of the Trafalgar Fire Brigade, who competed in the state demonstrat­ions that won in 1986 and 1994. Bill was awarded the National Medal and was made an honorary life member. He had served 55 years with the brigade.

Bill played badminton and was also made a life member. He won the men’s singles in 196869, and captain coached B grade to a premiershi­p in 1974. Bill’s team won the A Reserve championsh­ip in 1975, 1981, 1982 and 1984.

Bill played bowls at the Trafalgar Bowling Club, where he entered tournament­s with his mates. Bill won greenkeepe­rs singles in 199798 and mixed fours in 2001. He was also made life member of the Trafalgar Bowling Club.

Bill also served with the Lions Club of Trafalgar.

Bill loved to travel and saw all of Australia. He had stated that we live in a beautiful country.

Bill’s family thanked people for gifting cards and flowers.

Bill died peacefully at his home in Trafalgar on February 27, aged 71. Rest in peace Bill.
