Charges follow pub assault

Two Traralgon men were arrested and charged on Sunday in relation to assaults at the Erica Hotel on Wednesday.

One of the men, a 44-year-old Traralgon man, was remanded in custody to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

A 38-year-old Traralgon man was bailed to reappear at LVMC on June 28. Both men were charged with assault. The charges relate to an incident at Erica Hotel on Wednesday.

Police said both men had been drinking at the pub and then got into a vehicle which was allegedly driven erratically outside the hotel.

Police said the men allegedly returned to the hotel where they requested to purchase takeaway alcohol.

Police said an altercation occurred between the men and a staff member, in which one of the alleged offenders became quite aggressive.

The two men allegedly assaulted a staff member and another male.

The two men sustained minor injuries.
