Juniors claim national polocrosse victory

Three local polocrosse players were in the winning Victorian under 12s team at the Australian Junior Classic at Albury recently.

Sisters Alicia and Isabelle Nicholson of Yarragon and Toby Radford of Trafalgar were members of the winning team that recorded successful wins against New South Wales and Queensland to give them the title.

Alicia and Isabelle both play for Trafalgar Polocrosse Club while Toby plays for Rosedale.

After a successful team effort in their matches, Isabelle and Toby also were recognised with individual awards.

Isabelle won the best horse and rider in the under 12s while Toby won the best number three player.

Other team members included Harry Semmens (West Sale), Brady Wilms (Sale), Angus Cooper (Corio) and Laura Michelmore (Casterton).

Trafalgar Polocrosse Club players Angus Templeton and Lacey Radford were members of the Victorian under 16s team that recorded two wins and two losses during the three day national competitio­n.
