Daniel Schmidt took out victory for the best two rounds of single stable ford played over the Easter long weekend with a final score of 77 points, just the one point in advance of Tony Hockley.

Saturday’s game, also single stableford, was played in cool, crisp autumn conditions and was attended by a field of 67.

There were some nice scores achieved with the best being Ian Nicolson who came in with 45 points playing off his mark of 23.

Best in for A grade was Peter Glasscock with a final score of 41 points playing off a handicap of 14. Doug Eastick won the B grade event with the same score line.

A total of 27 golfers were able to play to their handicap or better for the day.

A higher than recent average score of 40 was required to win a ball down the line.

Gus McKillop scored the two nearest the pins on both the par three ninth and eleventh holes.

Next week is a game of single stableford.

Mid week

A field of 62 had a game on Easter Monday with Peter McNeish continuing on with some fine form by winning the A grade event with a score of 39 points to go with his recent Summer Cup victory.

Michael Gough won B grade with 41 points while Pat O’Brien won the C grade event with 40 points.

A score of 37 down to a count back was required to get a ball down the line.

A small field of 23 attended Thursday’s competitio­n which was played on freshly cored greens.

It was a case of “play it again Sam” with the front nine holes having to be played twice due to course maintenanc­e.

Peter Scott didn’t mind the sand as he came in with a nice score of 43 points to win the major grade.

George Gray won B grade with a score of 39 points, while a final score of 38 points was needed to get a ball down the line.
