EDFL competition tightens

-

The Ellinbank District Football League competition has been tight to date, with Neerim-Neerim South’s run away win over Poowong the onyl real margin of significance from Saturday’s matches.

The Cats stormed away in the second half to run out big winners to the tune of 96-points to be one of three teams to remain undefeated following three rounds.

Warragul Industrials are part of that group, the Dusties again doing enough to win comfortably to defeat a winless Nyora by 70-points.

Ellinbank also look strong, but were made to work for their victory over Lang Lang in signs that the Tigers may be beginning to gel.

Nilma-Darnum got their season going in what eventuated as match of the round, holding off a fast finishing Longwary to fall in by five points following a disappointing first two rounds.

Catani and Buln Buln were also well matched, the Blues coming out on top on this occasion to improve their record to 2-1 and sit fourth.

Longwarry head a list of four teams at 1-2 that also includes Buln Buln, Nilma-Darnum and Nyora.

Lang Lang and Poowong are searching for their first win.

Round four shapes as an exciting one, with the undefeated Ellinbank and Warragul Industrials headlining.

The match between Neerim-Neerim South and Nilma-Darnum also has some promise if the Bombers can bring their best football.

Other matches should also be closely contested with Buln Buln hoping to edge out Poowong, Longwarry hosting Lang Lang and Nyora meeting Catani. still
