Seymour gives intimate Elvis tribute at Wesley
An intimate and heartfelt tribute to the biggest star there ever was will be held at Wesley of Warragul on Friday, June 2 at 7.30pm.
“Elvis…And Me” starring Andy Seymour will celebrate “The King” as the audience is taken on a glorious, jam packed ride full of the songs known and loved plus stories never to be forgotten.
So how does an Aussie country boy liken himself to the outrageousness of Elvis?
Hailing from a small country town, Andy Seymour grew up listening to the one and only local radio station. Even though it played all kinds of music, Seymour found himself drawn to the huge voices belting out songs of love and loss whilst imagining what these singers looked like.
The 12-year old was once found crooning “In the Ghetto” to a field of jersey cows which seemed perfectly normal at the time.
Seymour said “To my amazement, these guys looked exactly the way I pictured them! Handsome, big hair, sideburns and puffy shirts were the order of the day. My fascination and passion for Elvis grew as I discovered that I could emulate his voice with ease, and people instantly loved my interpretations of the classic tunes. Even the cows mooed in appreciation.”
“Elvis…and Me” is love and pain on bended knee, together with a fascinating look behind-the-scenes of what it’s really like to tour the globe.
Australian audiences will be familiar with Seymour’s acclaimed shows, “The Gospel According to Elvis” and “Crooners and Swooners”. Regular performances in the USA and Japan over the past two decades have cemented his international reputation.
Tickets are $39 for adults, $36.50 for concession, $37.50 for groups and $25 for youth aged 17 and under.
