Tight race in Reserves ladder

The Ellinbank District football ladder has tightened, following Neerim-Neerim South’s comfortbal­e win over Warragul Industrial­s, 14-11 (95) to 5-11 (41).

Neerim-Neerim South’s win put them on top of the ladder, percentage ahead of the second-placed Industrial­s.

Ellinbank, Buln Buln and Catani follow, with each side on 20 points in a tight top five.

The Cats kicked away in the first term, only for the Industrial­s to hit back to take a one-point lead into half time.

The Cats dominated the second half, booting nine goals to three behinds to record a comfortabl­e victory.

Jason Halligan booted four goals for the Cats, while Daniel Fusinato chipped in with three majors.

Jack Erickson, Mathew Churchill, Sean Ladds and Mathew Cumming helped the Cats dominate the second half.

Tom Turner, Sam Davies, Adam Bainbridge, Shane Ingham and Matthew Gooden helped keep the Industrial­s in the contest up until half time.

Cats claw Dusties

Neerim-Neerim South won a tight under 18s match, 8-1 (49) to 4-13 (37).

The Industrial­s held a narrow lead throughout the first half before inaccuracy proved costly in the second, as the Cats ran over the top.

Rhys George, Tom Hankin, Adam White, Jackson Saunders, Rhys Slattery and Justin Lockett helped the Cats to a come from behind victory.

Brad Curtain, Matthew Burdett, Isaac Lalor, TomCommade­ur, Jacob Walker and Joseph Murfet kept the Industrial­s in the contest.

Dusties win big

WarragulIn­dustrials were big winners in the under 16s, 15-3 (93) to 3-1 (19).

Neerim-Neerim South kept pace in the first quarter, trailing by just three points, but fell away from that point to only register a behind for the remainder of the contest as Industrial­s took control.

Lachlan Bambridge kicked four goals, while Luke Kinder and Ryley Green each chipped in with three majors.

Tyler Irving and HarrisonPe­rry were also prominent.

The Cats were best served by Lachlan Smith, Thomas Pollard, Patrick Bernard, Kyle Bright, Beau Ellis and Josh White.
