Water meter thefts

Thefts of water meters from properties is continuing to be a problem for local police, with two stolen in the past week.

A water meter valued at $2000 was stolen from the Salvation Army church in Burke St, Warragul.

The theft occurred between 12.45pm on Sunday, May 21 and 3pm on Monday.

Police said offenders stole the water meter from the front of the property.

In another incident, a water meter was stolen from a property in Buckland Drv, Warragul.

Police said a house is under constructi­on on the property and the theft was discovered on Thursday.
