Rural thefts investigated
Police are investigating burglaries at a number of rural properties over the past week.
About $1000 worth of hand tools and copper pipe were stolen from a house in Modella.
Police said offenders forced entry to the Yannathan Rd property by forcing open a window.
Police also are investigating a burglary at a property in Hall and Porches Rd, Nilma North between May 18 and May 25.
Police said offenders entered an unlocked shed on the property and stole two Ryobi sanders, a saw, a barbecue gas bottle and a set of screwdrivers.
In another incident, a Husqvarna chainsaw was stolen from a house in Albert Rd, Drouin last week.
The theft occurred between Thursday and Sunday.
The chainsaw, valued at $800, was left at the back door of the house.
A Toyota Hilux utility valued at about $20,000 was stolen from Neerim South last week while the owner was motorbike riding.
Police said the owner parked his dual cab utility in a reserve area on Latrobe River Rd and unloaded his motorbike.,
The man was riding his motorbike between 5pm and 6pm on Monday when the vehicle was stolen.
Registration of the vehicle is 1BP4YN.
Police are investigating a burglary in which $17,500 worth of property was stolen from the Ausnet Services depot in Normanby St, Warragul.
A range of power tools including a Husqvarna chainsaw and lengths of cable were stolen from the yard.
Offenders used bolt cutters to access a number of shipping containers on the site.
Police said the incident occurred in April and reported last week.
