Gull 4ths continue good form

-

Warragul’s Under 16 team continued its great start to the season with its fifth win from six games against Wonthaggi Power on Saturday.

The Gulls are third on the ladder, percentage behind second spot, and two games clear in the “five” following their 139 to 5-5 win.

Their six-goal opening term paved the way.

Matthew Garvey, Connor Ives, Matthew Boyles, Beau Cusden, Flynn O’Reilly and Clarke Stern were the better players in another great team showing.

Billy Bundle was among the goals again with three, Stern and Boyles kicked two each and singles were scored by O’Reilly, Garvey, Fraser Phillips, Joshua Bloye, Zachary Penny and Harry Notman.

The Under 18 Gulls went down by just four points in a hard-fought and close game for four quarters.

Wonthaggi kicked the only goal of the final term to win 4-9 to 3-7.

Best for Warragul were Rhys Chambers, Aaron Baxter, Braeden Robbins, Cooper Robbins, Dylan Visser and Michael Burke.

Matthew Fox kicked two of the goals and Joshua Notman got the other.
