Drugs found in car after crash Fire in carpark

-

A quantity of drugs was found in a crashed car in Lardner Rd late last Monday night.

Police said they located 14 grams of methamphetamine and a number of stolen registration plates when they attended the collision scene of a Ford sedan.

The collision occurred at about 11.10pm on Monday night in Lardner Rd, Drouin.

Police believe the vehicle was travelling at about 180 km/hour when the car failed to negotiate a right-hand corner, hit an embankment and rolled.

Police said the three occupants, who all fled the scene, were lucky to survive the crash.

When police, ambulance and CFA officers arrived, none of the three occupants were at the collision site.

Police said two passengers – a 21-year-old woman and 23-yearold male both from Swan Hill – made their way back to the scene.

They were both taken to Dandenong Hospital.

The alleged driver of the vehicle was out on parole and police were able to track the man through his parole tracking ankle bracelet.

Police arrested and charged a 27year-old Drouin man.

The man was taken to the Alfred Hospital with injuries and has been remanded in custody for breach of parole.

A small fire was deliberately lit in a carpark below Aldi supermarket in Warragul last week.

Offenders set fire to a small table in the carpark at 2.20pm on Friday.

The fire was extinguished before any significant damage was caused.
