-

Ellinbank bounced back to comfortably account for Nyora, 13-14 (92) to 3-10 (28).

The win ensured the Eagles remained well and truly in the hunt for a top two finish.

Leading by three goals at quarter time, the Eagles gradually built on their lead across the four quarters. Four goals to no score in the final term blew the margin out.

Keegan Bott kicked three goals, while Shaun Phelan, Lachlan Cove, Ben Wragg, Andrew Quirk, Jayson Barwick and Daniel Barrand were also among the better players in a consistent performance.

Ilan Osman booted three goals for the Saints, with Dylan Heylen, Adam Tagliaferro, Sam Dixon, Chris Hodges and Jordan Anderson also among the better players.

Eagles win big

Ellinbank scored a big win over Nyora in the Reserves, 20-20 (140) to 3-2 (20).

The Eagles kicked away after a tight first term, with returns of five goals in the second term, six in the third and seven in the final quarter.

Thomas Robertson booted six goals, while James Scammell chipped in with three majors.

Brad Berry, Kristian Bingham, Micheal Robertson and Tyler Hotchkin were also prominent.

Brett Kelly, Jacob Lesjak, Travis White, Sam Collis, Rick Jordan and Nathaniel Wright were the better players for the Saints.

Eagles clip Magpies

Ellinbank comfortably accounted for Poowong in the make-up game at Catani, but the match was not without incident.

The Eagles had kicked out to a 28-point lead at three-quarter-time against an inaccurate Poowong side that had registered seven behinds to that point.

The beginning of the fourth quarter was delayed when faeces were discovered shoved into a flag holder, with officials not re-starting the match until the issue was dealt with.

The final quarter was played out with both sides registering a goal, the final score Ellinbank 6-6 (42) to 1-7 (13).

Stewart Bedford, Sam Pratt, Nicholas Matheson, Cooper Bagnara, Brian Kelly and Lachlan Hedrick helped the Eagles kick away to victory.

Darcy Burgess, Mathew Burr, Mitchell De Kleuver, Kaden Fullerton, Ash Schmidt and Bailey Murphy were the better players for the Magpies.
