The day got off to a freezing start on Saturday, which then developed in to a windy afternoon for the week’s major event, being a four-ball aggregate stableford.
A field of 38 pairs lined up with the best score in achieved by Dan Kelly and Paul Kaye, who teamed up for a score of 71 points.
Runners up with a score of 69 were Greg Needham and Clinton Smith. In third place with a score of 67 were Steve Kohut and Peter Medwin.
It was a welcome return to form by Kohut, who also scored 36 points for Thursday’s event as well as a nearest the pin on both Thursday and Saturday.
Finishing in fourth place with a score of 65 was the team of Michael Gough and Geoff Turner.
Russ Loughridge continues to raid the eagles nest, this time on the par four second hole which awarded him the seven balls for his effort.
A score of 62 to a count back was required to win a ball down the line.
Thursdays stableford event was nothing less than cold, wet and miserable. The conditions evidently impacted everyone’s idea of a mid-week game with just the 12 hardy souls; some may use another description, registering for a game.
The best in with a score of 37 points was Peter Fedorenko, while Steve Kohut was runners up. Saturday is a game of single stableford. Members are advised the club’s 2017 annual general meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 25 commencing at 7pm. Nomination forms and all other enquires are available at the club.
