Heartbreak time for junior players
With only a week left in the season, it is now heartbreak time for some players.
They have worked hard all year only to be knocked out just before the grand final.
Labertouche White started well in A grade, winning the first doubles.
Warragul settled down and played good consistent play to win the next two doubles games, giving them the lead going onto the singles.
Both Andrew and Stuart from Labertouche have been strong all year in their singles and they kept up that reputation, winning the first two singles.
This left the last game for the night to decide who would go through to the final.
Josh for Warragul hadn’t lost a game all night and he wasn’t going to let his team down, and Warragul are playing again next week.
Warragul Blue had a few fill-ins for B/C grade, which put them behind to start with.
Ellinbank had their full team back and started well with a three-set win in the first game.
Warragul were capable in winning the next doubles, but unfortunately, this was the only win for them as Ellinbank just kept winning.
Ellinbank started well in D grade, winning all the doubles, although Jacob and Willem made them work hard for the last doubles.
Isabelle gave Drouin their first win for the night, winning her singles but again unfortunately it was the only game for Drouin on the night, with Ellinbank winning the rest of the singles.
Ellinbank started with a hard-fought win against Drouin in E grade.
Drouin, who have been strong all year, then came back with solid performances to win the rest of the doubles. Alec then put Drouin into a strong position by winning the first singles.
