Art Therapy returns to Jindivick
Art Psychotherapy Australia, through Dr Janine Brophy-Dixon (PhD) and Carla Temple is again offering a Foundations of Art Therapy training for professionals, aimed at counsellors, psychologists, psychotherapists, health workers, Art Psychotherapy Australia, through Dr Janine Brophy-Dixon (PhD) and Carla Temple is again offering a Foundations of Art Therapy training for professionals, aimed at counsellors case workers, social workers, teachers, nurses, community artists, youth workers and all those working or studying in the health or welfare sectors.
The two previous courses have been highly successful with participants commenting that the training has deepened their awareness both professionally and personally.
The group experience is unique and inspiring with experiential exercises being professionally integrated into participants workplaces.
Carla Temple is a trained Art Therapist with a background in Special Education. She has conducted programs across Australia and overseas and co-authored two books and written training material for Australasia Education on school bullying, worked in a women’s refuge, and conducted women's workshops.
Janine is an artist, Art Therapist, counsellor, educator and researcher who has worked in prisons, drug and alcohol, and indigenous services. She lectures at the Australian College of Applied Psychology.
Janine said “Art therapy is an essential tool for all professionals to generate change and insight when working with clients, and no artistic abilities necessary.”
Carla added “Art therapy expresses what words cannot.
This dynamic training benefits those who are keen to move their professional practice forward. Participants leave with an extensive practical resource manual.”
The course is 5 weekend workshops over 2017 and 2018, starting in October 2017.
