Kids display their X-Factor

-

Do your children have X-Factor?

Bunyip and District Community House will offer local kids the chance to showcase their talents and skills at the annual “Kids X-Factor”.

Ahead of the event in October, a special registration day will be held on Sunday at the Bunyip Scout Hall from 10am to 2pm.

Bunyip and District Community House coordinator Davina Veenstra said Kids XFactor was an opportunity for children to build their confidence in performing on stage.

“We have a variety of acts and performances, with kids performing as a mix of both groups and individuals,” she said. “This event gives children a chance to get in and have a go, and show us what they can do. Previous events have been very well attended, with a mix of parents, friends and family filling the hall. Past events have attracted participants from as widely as Morwell to Pakenham and beyond.”

Kids X-Factor is open to children aged between five and 15-years-old to perform in one of three categories – singing, dancing or entertainment. They are accompanied by music director Paul Rolfe. Cardinia Shire councillor Graeme Moore is compere.

A panel of judges made up from community members Jo Simpson, Jen Cunneen and Tony Arrigo will select a winner and two runners-up.

In previous years, young performers have blown people away with their skills. Past performers have also gone on to participate in local Christmas Carol events and local and regional stage productions.

Bunyip Kids X-Factor will be staged at the Bunyip Hall on Saturday, October 21 from 2pm.
