Expo provides day out for whole family

-

The 17th annual Gippsland Garden and Home Expo promises to be a great day out for the whole family with musical entertainment, and many activities for children, including free potting of plants, face painting and magicians with children`s play areas.

There is an extensive range of catering and refreshments available at very reasonable prices, so you will have a fun filled, inexpensive day.

Entry costs are adults $10 each and children under 16 are free.

EFTPOS will be available from the Drouin Lions Club site.

Funds raised by Drouin Lions Club over the weekend go back to the Community.

On stage at 1pm on Sunday will be the presentation of awards for best site displays and place getters in the Scarecrow Competition.

This will be followed at 2.45pm by the drawing of the huge Garden and Home Expo trailer raffle. Tickets are only $20 each and will be available all weekend at the expo.

The first prize is a trailer which is loaded with gardening items, including a lawnmower. Second prize is two nights for four at The Moorings in Metung, with other minor prizes.

There is convenient disabled, and bus parking available. If you find you have too many plants to carry, you can get them delivered to your car by the Drouin Secondary College Leo Club to make life a little easier.

For a gold coin donation, they will look after your plants while you keep shopping and then deliver them to your car for you. They are located outside Baw Baw pavilion near the catering area.

Previous years have seen many keen gardeners arrive at Lardner Park with their trailer in tow.

While enjoying your day at the expo it`s worth a stop at the Drouin Lions Club indoor site in Baw Baw Pavilion. There will be Lions Christmas Cakes available for you to purchase.

Drouin Lions Club members will be on hand around the expo, wearing yellow vests, to help anyone in need or questions about the expo.

Any of the members can talk to you about joining Drouin Lions over the weekend or you can contact membership chairman Lion Theo on 0407343410 or 56254589.
