A field of 100 faced the starter for the Oc­to­ber monthly medal on Satur­day, which as per the usual is spon­sored by a lo­cal butcher.

Played in fine and clear con­di­tions, it was the left handed vet­eran Ge­orge Gray whom came out vic­to­ri­ous with a net score of 67 play­ing off his mark of 29.

Dave Lawler was the best for the A grade event, fin­ish­ing just the one shot fur­ther back play­ing off a hand­i­cap of 14.

John Coutts did best for B grade with a win­ning score of 69 play­ing off his hand­i­cap of 16.

The mer­cu­rial Gus McKil­lop had the best scratch score for the day with a five over 74 recorded.

A fi­nal score of 72 or bet­ter was re­quired to win a ball down the line, which was achieved by an­other 11 play­ers.

Pi­eter Van Der Horst scored an ea­gle three on the par five first hole.

A field of 43 came out for a game on Thurs­day
