Trafalgar celebrate Seniors Week

As part of celebrating Seniors Week, the Trafalgar Golf Club hosted the Veteran’s Golf Classic.

An 18-hole 4BBB and nine-hole stableford events attracted capacity fields with members from at least nine clubs enjoying perfect conditions.

Debra Beary, representing the major sponsor, presented the major winners with their prizes.

There were several down the line and nearest the pin winners, along with longest and straightest drive winners.

Following golf, players sat down to a lovely meal and discussed the highs and lows of their individual games. All players commented on how well the day was presented and carried out.

Trafalgar Golf Club thanked its seniors captain Harold McNair, the seniors match committee and all the volunteers who made the day such a success. Results: 18-hole 4BBB: Women’s: 1st Helen Keith and Lyn Powell 39, 2nd Sue Rose and Rose Gallagher 38; Men’s: 1st Max Taylor and Duart Perrin 44cb, 2nd Phil Wilkins and Geoff Cohen 44.

Nine-hole stableford: Women’s: 1st Nola Fordham 19, 2nd Heather Savige 15; Men’s: 1st John Lewis 23, 2nd David Balfour 22.
