Neerim District score one win, one loss
Neerim District Bowling Club started the WGBD pennant season with one win and one loss on Saturday.
Division two: Neerim District defeated Traralgon (2) 97/83.
Greg King (skip), Jim Fallon, Ross Pollard and Chris Hogan lost to G. Cole’s team 23/34. Peter Throup (skip), Karren Sheers, Russell Meehan and Wes Ellis defeated D. Currie’s team 29/14. Angus McGillivray (skip), Pat Fraser-Aurisch, Tony Thornton and Colin McKay defeated D. Liverstone’s team 26/15. Ray Watts (skip), Trevor Kuhnell, Gerry Engelstad and Bruce Mironow lost to A. Moore’s team 19/20.
Division five: Neerim District (2) lost to Morwell (4) 65/67.
Bill Cook (skip), Phil Mapleson, Steve Halligan and George Rymer were behind all day against N. Nikodemski’s team. They lost 19/26.
Tom Goodwin (skip), Thelma Schroeder, Kevin Aurisch and Maureen Halligan got off to a good start against S. Mizzi’s team. They were ahead all game but the scores were close at times. Neerim held on to win 23/19.
Gerald Winter (skip), Jim Schroeder, Greg Bond and Dianne Tame started well against D. Bailey’s team. It was close from the break with the lead changing several times. Neerim held on to win 23/22.
Division one: Neerim District defeated Traralgon 66/57.
Pat Fraser-Aurisch (skip), Dianne Tame, Gerald Winter and Kevin Aurisch were ahead all game against D. Bau’s team and won 23/12.
Elizabeth Hodge (skip), Thelma Schroeder, Russell Meehan and Colin McKay struggled for two thirds of the game against D. Wylie’s team. They won the 21st end and all remaining ends to win 24/17.
Karren Sheers (skip), Maureen Halligan, Ray Watts and Gerry Engelstad were behind all game against P. Trewin’s team and lost 19/28.
