Evans propels Panthers

Yarragon 3/153(cc) def Buln Buln 95 (35): A fantastic all-round performance from Yarragon’s Norm Evans has propelled the Panthers to a big win over Buln Buln.

Having been sent in by the Lyrebirds, Evans wasted no time in getting going, striking regular boundaries on his way to 54 retired. Steve Green also scored freely (six fours) before being dismissed for 40.

Darren Davidson chipped in late with 15 not out to push the visitors total past 150.

Rob Park and Glenn Barnes picked up a wicket apiece.

Evans (2/11) then took the new ball and along with Davidson set about dismantling the Buln line-up.

At 4/24 the writing was on the wall for the home side before a determined 66 run stand from John and Clint Rowe added some respectability to the score.

John’s dismissal for 27 however triggered a stunning collapse that saw the Lyrebirds lose 6/5 to finish the day all out for 95 in the final over. Clint remained not out on 50.

Pick of the bowlers was Darren Davidson who finished with incredible figures of 4/3 off seven overs, which included five maidens.
