Defensive driving focus

Defensive driving was the focus for graduating year 12 students at Neerim District Secondary College.

Thanks to the Neerim and District Lions Club the students were presented with vouchers entitling them to level one defensive driving classes.

The presentations were made at the students’ final assembly last month.

Once they have gained their driver’s licences the vouchers will entitle them to a full day at Sandown Racetrack, which can be undertaken at any time.

Lions Club spokesman Paul Montagnat said the club started the project as a positive way of tackling the road toll.

It is hoped the project will expand next year.
