Drouin v Jindivick A fighting innings from Jindivick has seen them just topple Drouin’s score of 76 on the weekend, making 7-85 to win.
Runs were shared as Drouin’s Ryan Maric (38) and Bill Gibbons (2-9), triggered a mini-collapse to leave hearts in mouths for Jindivick players, however the lower order saw them home. Hallora v Ellinbank An amazing spell of bowling by Hallora has seen them thrash a young Ellinbank team.
Defending 209, Hallora needed just 11.1 overs to skittle the Bankers for 10. Liam Serong (5-3) was the star, causing a collapse of 7-0 as Brad Ward and Brayden Notman each chimed in with two wickets.
Batting again, Hallora made 3-43 Ellinbank fought hard in the field. Longwarry v Buln Buln A strong bowling performance by Buln Buln has seen them defeat Longwarry in a nail biter.
Defending a meagre 91, terrific spells of bowling from Logan Wallmeyer (3-11) and Jack Walsh (2-9) were enough to dismiss the Crows for 77 in the 36th over, despite a sensational knock and man of the match performance from Finton Fox (36). Neerim District v Western Park Western Park has made it two from two, chasing Neerim’s total of 72 with relative ease at as the weekend.
Liam O’Connor (33*) was the standout batsmen, as Western Park made 7-104 off their 40. Riley Ferguson (3-11) was the pick of the bowlers for Neerim, who showed great fight. Yarragon v Garfield-Tynong A low-scoring affair created a relatively even contest between these two young sides.
Chasing 43, Yarragon batted throughout the day, making 9-72 off 48 against a gallant Titans attack.
Runs were shared, while for Garfield-Tynong, Braaksma, West and Nibbs all took two wickets to give themselves a strong finish.
Under 16s
Buln Buln v Hallora/Ellinbank Will Gown (50*) and Jai Serong (37*) were outstanding for the merged side, as they completed a strong victory over Buln Buln at the weekend.
Chasing 86, the pair were superb in guiding their side to 2-145 off their 40 overs, with Serong claiming a man-of-the match performance.
The Buln bowlers struggled to take wickets, however will be aiming to improve on this as we enter the next few rounds.
Warragul defeated Garfield-Tynong in a Twenty/20 contest completed on day one, while Longwarry and Jindivick/Neerim shared the points.
