Witnesses sought for erratic driving

Police are seeking information to assist with investigations into incidents of erratic driving in the Warragul central business district last Monday.

Police reported a maroon Mercedes sedan narrowly avoided a collision with a Ford Territory police vehicle at the intersection of Palmerston and Victoria Sts at about 11.20am.

Police said the Mercedes was travelling south in Victoria St and the police vehicle was travelling west.

The Mercedes allegedly continued to be driven in an erratic manner along Victoria St to the Smith St intersection and then through the Queen St roundabout.

The Mercedes was later intercepted by police and the driver was interviewed in relation to traffic offences.

Police are seeking further information of CCTV footage from any businesses in the area.
