Woman arrested in street

A Berwick woman was arrested in Napier St, Warragul on Friday after allegedly stealing clothes from a number of fashion stores in Warragul.

The 42-year-old woman was arrested after police received reports of the alleged shoplifting.

Police allege the woman had stolen items from a number of fashion stores in the central business district.

The woman was charged with shoplifting and bailed to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

A box of toys put away for Christmas presents was stolen from a Warragul house on the weekend.

Police said offenders forced entry to the Centre Ave home between 1pm and 5pm on Saturday afternoon.

A box of toys, still in their packaging, that were purchased for Christmas presents was stolen.

Police are seeking information from anyone who may be able to assist with investigations.
