Redesign proposed for Bowen Street
Designs for the proposed reconstruction of a section of Bowen St, Warragul have been released for community review and feedback.
The proposed works focus on a section of Bowen St between Sutton and Clifford Sts.
Designs for the proposed reconstruction include construction of new kerb and channel, construction of a new 11.7 metre wide road pavement including roadside parking, and surface and underground drainage works.
Mayor Joe Gauci said council was keen to addressing the key problem areas of one of Warragul’s busy roads.
“The plans for the road reconstruction aim to address ongoing concerns including significant pavement failures, road width and poor drainage along the east side of the road,” he said.
Residents can view the proposed design plans on council’s website.
Submissions and feedback close on Friday, December 1 at 5pm.
Council has sent letters and a copy of the proposed design to residents who will be directly impacted by the works, inviting their feedback on the designs.
“We want to offer local residents a first-hand look at the proposed road reconstruction works that will improve safety and access all road users.
“Feedback will be reviewed and considered before the detailed designs are finalised for the tendering process,” he said.
Council aims to have the reconstruction designs finalised in December 2017 with works will begin soon after.
This project is listed as one of the three road reconstruction projects to be funded in the current capital works budget, along with Rollo St in Yarragon and Buln Buln Rd in Drouin.
