There were no excuses last Wednesday – the weather was beautiful and the course was in great condition.

The second round of the Club Championsh­ips saw 44 Warragul women competing. Results: A grade: 1st Joy Marriott 87/13/74, 2nd Helen Coghlan 88/14/74; Bgrade: 1st Penny Scott 98/27/71, 2nd Barb Davidson 97/24/73; C grade: 1st Wendy Brown 114/43/71 , 2nd Joan Nelson 104/32/72; DTL: Anna Boyd (103/30/73), Wendy Wilcox (109/34/75), Sue Rose (95/20/75), Janine Williams (85/9/76), Irene Thomas (89/13/76), Debbie Corstorphi­n (90/13/77), Belinda Best (106/28/78), Sandy Heenan (101/23/78), Lyn Morrison (90/12/78) and Kerri Ahearn (90/12/78); NTP:7th Kerri Ahearn, 15th Joy Marriott; Pro-pin: A grade: Helen Coghlan; B grade: Lesley Huggins.

Eighteen women played in the nine-hole competitio­n, the winner being Sue Montagnet with nett 30 from Sandra Turner with nett 32.

Down the line balls went to Mavis Dye, Jenny Wiedermann, Beth Sibson and Nancy Devries all with nett 33.

After the second week of the Club Championsh­ips the progress scores are:

Janine Williams (175), Lyn Morrison (176), Joy Marriott (178) and Helen Coghlan (178).

Leading bronze division one is Helen Amott (191), followed by Barb Davidson (200), Sue Rose (202) and Rose Gallagher (202).

Anna Boyd (214) is leading bronze division two followed by Joan Nelson and Wendy Wilcox both on 215.

Tomorrow is the third and final round of the Club Championsh­ips.
