Third race for triathlon juniors

Triathlon season is well and truly back. The third race for the Wild Dog Triathlon Club juniors 2017/18 season finally welcomed some warm weather, making ideal conditions for all the participan­ts.

Twenty-two competitor­s turned out to race. Some old hats at racing and a few new people to the sport that were very pleased with their race results.

There were a couple of personal bests and some fabulous times recorded – overall a great effort by everyone who raced. The barbecue at the end of the race is still a great hit and an incentive for some children. Race results – Boy’s one lap: Fraser Leighton won in 7 minutes 25 seconds, Ed Marriott 7.45, Beau Mounsey 16.57.

Girl’s one lap: Harper McNair 7.56, Emmy McDonald8.33, Harper Webster 9.37.

Girl’s two lap: Maya McDonald 12.16, Amalie Marriott 13.44, Chelsea Hahn 14.47, Ava North 16.53, Audrey Graafsma DNF with a fall on her bike.

Boy’s three lap: Andrew Thompson 16.06, Cooper Leighton 18.23, Ash Mounsey 22.19.

Girl’s three lap: Grace Graafsma 15.54, Gemma McNair 18.46, Eleanor Graafsma 25.23.

Boy’s four lap: Harry Graafsma 21.33 (PB), Kai Mounsey 25.45.

Girl’s four lap: Zara McNair 22.25, Ava McKellar 24.02 (PB), Evelyn Graafsma 32.05.

The club welcomes new competitor­s to the sport and offer a one day membership for those that want to give it a try.
