Third race for triathlon ju­niors

Triathlon sea­son is well and truly back. The third race for the Wild Dog Triathlon Club ju­niors 2017/18 sea­son fi­nally wel­comed some warm weather, mak­ing ideal con­di­tions for all the par­tic­i­pants.

Twenty-two com­peti­tors turned out to race. Some old hats at rac­ing and a few new peo­ple to the sport that were very pleased with their race re­sults.

There were a cou­ple of per­sonal bests and some fab­u­lous times recorded – over­all a great ef­fort by ev­ery­one who raced. The bar­be­cue at the end of the race is still a great hit and an in­cen­tive for some chil­dren. Race re­sults – Boy’s one lap: Fraser Leighton won in 7 min­utes 25 sec­onds, Ed Mar­riott 7.45, Beau Moun­sey 16.57.

Girl’s one lap: Harper McNair 7.56, Emmy McDon­ald8.33, Harper Web­ster 9.37.

Girl’s two lap: Maya McDon­ald 12.16, Amalie Mar­riott 13.44, Chelsea Hahn 14.47, Ava North 16.53, Au­drey Graaf­sma DNF with a fall on her bike.

Boy’s three lap: An­drew Thomp­son 16.06, Cooper Leighton 18.23, Ash Moun­sey 22.19.

Girl’s three lap: Grace Graaf­sma 15.54, Gemma McNair 18.46, Eleanor Graaf­sma 25.23.

Boy’s four lap: Harry Graaf­sma 21.33 (PB), Kai Moun­sey 25.45.

Girl’s four lap: Zara McNair 22.25, Ava McKel­lar 24.02 (PB), Eve­lyn Graaf­sma 32.05.

The club wel­comes new com­peti­tors to the sport and of­fer a one day mem­ber­ship for those that want to give it a try.
