Swamp Tigers in impressive form

-

However, the likes of Liam Quarrell (3-21 from 13), Dom Pullen (4-16 off 13) and Nick Pullen (1-25 from 11.3) proved too much to handle for the Buln batsmen, and they were forced to eke out each and every run for the day.

The run rate barely crept above 1.5 an over thanks to the build-up of pressure, and after 64.3 overs the Lyrebirds were bundled out for 108, with the Crows delighted to be on the board in season 2017/18.

Warriors too strong

Western Park (7-267) def. Garfield-Tynong (8-163):

Western Park’s batsmen enjoyed some quality time in the middle at the weekend, with the Warriors proving far too strong for Garfield-Tynong, taking out a 104-run victory.

Chasing 164 to win, Daniel Hilton (37) and Sam Cheeseman were watchful early on and saw off some testing bowling from Darren Vandenberge and Gerard Shields, who extracted early movement with the new-ball.

Once the change bowlers were handed the ball however there was little they could do to stem the flow of runs from Stephen Boltong (44), Stephen Briggs (65) and Travis Maher (68), with the trio demonstrating their expansive repertoire of strokes late in the day.

Wayne Danks (3-53 from 14) did his best to fight back with a handful of scalps, but the Titans were never in the hunt and Western Park blasted their way to 7-267 at stumps, their fourth win of the summer.
