Powerless ratepayers

-

The Victorian Provisions Reform (State Government) are seeking to streamline the Planning Process.

The Baw Baw Shire planning department is lodging a submission.

It would be more appropriate for the department to download their submission in order for ratepayers to overview the paper.

The planning department at the shire said they are looking to improve the swiftness of the process.

Does this then mean that ratepayers or neighbours do not have the input to raise concerns where new development is about to go up without voice?

What about permits in areas as high bushfire area, or flood prone area with no drainage, or landfall sites?

The PDF file has only downloaded this morning, (November 15) and yet the item 10.1 is listed for today’s meeting at Trafalgar.

The lack of time that this has given to ratepayers means that this will go through without people knowing what is happening in the shire? This can leave ratepayers powerless.

Bouquet to Baw Baw Shire for the appropriate markings for cyclists at the new roundabout at the intersection of Albert and Mason Sts.

A bouquet to Warragul Fire Brigade and Warragul Police who checked my Holden Rodeo that was leaking petrol in the car park behind Warragul Police Station. Also to the person who informed them; a good job by all.

A bouquet to the kind people who helped me capture my little dog on North Rd last Thursday. A very big thank you.

Heavy bricks to the person who stole $40 from my purse at the Warragul Country Club on Friday, November 17.

A huge bouquet to the kind person who found my mobile phone and handed it in to the Red Cross Shop, also a bouquet to the ladies in the opp shop who then handed it to Linda in The Little Cafe where I had bought my coffee, much appreciated.

Bricks to all the drivers doing right hand turns at the intersection of Queen St and Peace Ave. Any right hand turn from any direction is illegal at this intersection. An extra brick to the police car seen doing this.
