Many groups benefit from Bunyip bank funds
Bunyip Community Bank distributed grants to several community organisations following its annual general meeting last week.
The Bunyip and District Agricultural Society will use its funding to buy a trailer. To be utilised for the setting up of the annual Bunyip Show, the trailer will make it easier for the volunteers to do their tasks prior to and on show day.
Columba catholic Primary School will re-furbish its multi-purpose room to include stackable chairs and trolleys, big screen television and reverse cycle heating and cooling.
Columba Playgroup, Parish of IonaMaryknoll and Bunyip Kinder will also benefit from the improved space.
Bunyip Football Club will put its funding towards establishing a second oval. The next stage requires sand, seed and super to be spread before establishing the playing surface.
Bunyip kindergarten will renovate its kitchen to include a work bench. This will enable the children to actively participate in food preparation. The old cupboards and benchtops will be replaced by newer, user friendly options.
Bunyip and District Community News will upgrade its printer. With their current printer being more than eight years old and purchased second hand it needs regular maintenance, costing money and time.
Bunyip Fire Brigade will buy UHF handheld radios for each of its appliances to assist with communication between vehicles.
Garfield Primary School will create a community running track around its oval.
The Garfield Newsletter will buy a new computer to be made available to the designated editor.
Nar Nar Goon Progress Association will buy a defibrillator for community use.
St James Catholic School in Nar Nar Goon will expand and covers it sand play area. Currently the schoolyard has a small area of sand which is in full sun and with no adequate space for the children who wish to play there.
