Ellinbank snatch win from Titans
chase, Hallora were now panicking as the balls remaining ticked down.
Eventually, Henshall was run-out off the last ball of the day to see Neerim claim a sensational victory.
Jindivick hold on
Jindivick (145) def. Drouin (132): Drouin threatened to claim an upset win over Jindivick in their division two clash thanks to a sterling knock from Wade Crawford, but the lower order couldn’t quite put the finishing touches against some excellent bowling.
Langley (2-17 from 15.3), Shah (4-26 off 20) and Boswell (2-38 from 22) ensured that runs were at a premium for the entirety of the Drouin chase, and the Hawks found the constant pressure difficult to match.
Crawford fought valiantly with a knock of 43 in the middle order, and Nick Harper was patient on his way to 29 opening up, but apart from that there was precious little run-scoring from the batsmen.
Having resumed at 2-41 Drouin would have held high hopes of snatching the six points, but unfortunately for them they were dismissed for 132 in the 77th over, with the Jumping Jacks maintaining their excellent start to the summer.
Warriors on top
Western Park (134) def. Warragul (100): An incredible spell of spin bowling from Lasitha Amarasooriya has helped Western Park hang onto top spot on the division two table, with the Warriors claiming a 34-run win over Warragul.
With many a batsman looking to be patient and hoping to grind their way to the required total of 135, run-scoring was at a premium and against Amarasooriya the Gulls batsmen found themselves outclassed.
Only Daniel Best (who continued his excellent form with a brilliant knock of 52) and Andrew Best (who finished unbeaten on 26) were able to break the shackles, as Amarasooriya’s constant attack on the stumps took its toll.
Finishing with 5-25 from his 12 overs, the off-spinner received valuable support from Dave Burn (1-13 from 11) and Jason Batson (025 off 13) with the pressure build-up proving too much for the Gulls – dismissed for 100 in the 50th over.
