Poor day for Warragul

Warragul Bowling Club had a very poor day in round eight of WGBD pennant on Saturday with only the second team winning and the other four losing.

Division one: Warragul lost to Morwell 72/109.

John Vickerman, Matt Smith, Ken Scammell and Bill Clappers lost to Peter Borrodale’s team 15/20. Terry Sullivan, Ian Belling, Janette Gallasch and Clive Padgham lost to Wayne Bishop’s team 19/26. Keith Wilkins, David Alderman, Peter Gallasch and Glenn Lockett lost to Mick Cooper’s team 20/23. Ken Landman, David Smith, Toby Wallace and Peter Wood lost to Keith Gadsby’s team 18/40.

Division two: Warragul (2) defeated Traralgon (3) 101/81.

Ron Collins, Des Stephens, Paul Simmons and Roy Hammond defeated T. James’ team 25/16. Ted Holland, Alan McDonnell, Pat Hammond and Bob Currie defeated M. Cumming’s team 23/20. Brian Kennedy, Brian Barby, Dave Lawrence and Jim Moyle lost to R. Davey’s team 25/31. Kerrie Currie, Gabrielle Draisma, Andy Kidd and Eric Porter defeated I. Chase’s team 28/14.

Division three: Warragul Longwarry 73/108.

Jean Kydd, Ken Brown, Linda McCoy and Greg Mitchell lost to Trevor Eastwell’s team 12/35. David Gatewood, Marg Keeffe, Chris Wilkins and Mark Hall lost to Ken White’s team 21/24. Ruth Waring, Matt Draisma, Sue Haddock and Ken Taylor lost to Russell White’s team 20/26. Glynnis Mitchell, Flynn Pallot, Barry Downer and Steve Pallot lost to Barry White’s team 20/23.

Division five: Warragul (4) lost to Morwell (3) 72/75.

Bill Clark, Wilf Boscombe, May Baldwin and Alan Potter lost to L. Edge’s team 16/34. Freda Lay, Lindsay Matthews, David Piggin and Len Duncan defeated J. Klein’s team 35/13. Bob Dowal, Barbara Maloni, David Anderson and Vin Roche lost to D. Bailey’s team 21/28.

Division six: Warragul (5) lost to Longwarry (2) 41/55. (3) lost to

Fletcher Pallot, John Bell, Rick McCoy and Trevor Crofts lost to Gerry Wakefield’s team 15/30. Gary Thomas, Marj Evison, Michael Royce and Mike Cousens defeated Brian Mason’s team 26/25.

In round nine of WGBD pennant on Saturday, Warragul one is home to Traralgon RSL, Warragul two is away to Moe, Warragul three is home to Yallourn, Warragul four is away to Morwell Club and Warragul five is home to Garfield.
