Garfield-Tynong (3-150) def. Buln (7-104): Garfield-Tynong are on the cusp of the top four following their 46-run win over Buln, while the Lyrebirds slipped to a game outside of potential finals action after their disappoint­ing run-chase.

Needing 151 to win, a slick start was needed by the Buln top order – but instead the top five batsmen returned just 15 runs between then, with the Titans running rampant with the newball.

Glen Johnston (3-11 off 8) and Ryan Jones (2-24) went on their merry way and had the scoreboard reading 5-24 in the early part of the innings. From there, victory was never on the cards, despite encouragin­g knocks to Sam Reid and Lachlan Jagoe.

Earlier in the day, Ray Evans (48) and Wayne Danks (40) did the bulk of the damage as Garfield-Tynong posted 3-150 from their 40 overs.

Jindivick untroubled

Jindivick (3-113) def. Longwarry (109): Jindivick easily accounted for Longwarry in their round seven clash on Saturday, with the Jumping Jacks largely untroubled in a sevenwicke­t win.

Following a tremendous spell of bowling from Matthew Cheshire – the seamer returning the figures of 4-11 from his 7.5 overs – and handy contributi­ons from Andrew Pyle (2-18) and Phill Young (1-23 from eight), Jindivick were able to restrict Longwarry to just 7-109 from their 40 overs.
