Hallora (9-184) vs. Garfield-Tynong: A stunning knock of 85 to Caleb Serong helped Hallora post a competitive total in their encounter with Garfield-Tynong, with the youngster’s half-century helping to overcome some tight bowling from the Titans attack.

With Grant Pearson providing a typically impressive performance with the new-ball (snaring 4-39 from his 19 overs), it was left to Serong to propel the Halloran innings and together with Jai Serong the pair pushed the total upwards.

Craig Murray (2-30 from 14) and Josh Horsburgh (3-13 off six) put the brakes on the innings in the middle part of the afternoon and made life difficult for the Kangaroos, but courtesy of handy hitting from Daniel Sell late in the lower order, at the conclusion of 70 overs Hallora managed to reach 9-184.

Eagles post strong total

Ellinbank (178) vs. Jindivick: Ellinbank looked set to post a strong total against Jindivick but a flurry of late wicket courtesy of Jack Langley, Caleb Boswell and Luke Hume ensured that the Eagles didn’t punish the Jumping Jacks to the extent they might have.

Michael Masterson was at his defensive best and refused to be drawn into any loose shots, and his patient inning of 80 anchored the Ellinbank innings for the duration of the day.

Michael Pandolfo looked to accelerate the scoring with a boundary-laden 50 (his knock containing four fours and three sixes), but following his dismissal the rest of his teammates struggled to score.

Langley (2-40), Boswell (2-54) and Hume (2-12 off 11) were all impressive as they dismissed Ellinbank for 178 in the 70th over.
