Garfield-Tynong (5-99) vs. Yarragon (96): Garfield-Tynong have already claimed first innings point in their encounter with Yarragon following a stunning spell of bowling from Glenn Miller.

Having been sent into the field by the Panthers it looked as though they might have a long day ahead of them following a bright start from John Malacarne (20) and Brock Glover (15).

However, the introduction of Miller into the attack soon changed that as wickets began to tumble. Claiming figures of 6-14 from 9.5 overs, Miller proved to be nigh on unplayable and his constant attack on the stumps of the batsmen forced them into mistakes.

Chasing just 96, Anthony Hart struck 46 at the top of the order to lead the way for the Titans, and they made their way to 5-99 at stumps – with Stuart Horsburgh (6*) and Justin Price (2*) unbeaten at stumps.

Crows optimistic

Neerim District (162) vs. Longwarry (1-26): A series of handy contributions from the Neerim District top and middle order helped them post a competitive total against Longwarry.

Although the Crows would be optimistic of their chances, requiring 137 more on day two of proceedings to claim victory.

Travis McCann (26), Craig Cooke (32) and Matt Ward (37) all looked comfortable at the crease at various stage, but none of the trio could cause any real damage with the bat, as Joel Kilday (4-21 off 15) and Jessie LaFrantz (4-35 from 11) applied pressure with the ball.

After dismissing Neerim for 162, Longwarry had eight overs to face out, and they reached 1-26 at stumps with Evan Wright unbeaten on 13 and Ben McKenna six.
