Warragul earns five-shot win

Warragul Bowling Club had a fair day in round 12 of WGBD pennant on Saturday, with three teams losing and one winning.

Division one: Warragul lost to Morwell Club 80/98.

John Vickerman, Des Stephens, Bill Clappers and Ken Scammell lost to Mick Coram’s team 24/25. Shirley Melsen, Keith Wilkins, Toby Wallace and Clive Padgham lost to Wayne Lynch’s team 21/27. Ron Collins, David Alderman, Steve Pallot and Graeme Davis lost to Ron Witton’s team 13/24. Ian Belling, Terry Sullivan, Peter Gallasch and Janette Gallasch drew with Rod Smith’s team 22/22.

Division two: Warragul Traralgon (2) 90/85.

Ken Landman, Roy Hammond, David Smith and Jim Moyle drew with G. Cross’ team 22/22. Kerrie Currie, Andy Kidd, Paul Simmons and Necip Akarsu lost to A. Moore’s team 20/22. Gabrielle Draisma, Brian Barby, Matt Smith and Peter Wood lost to G. Cole’s team 21/23. Ted Holland, Alan McDonnell, Pat Hammond and Bob Currie defeated W. Bishop’s team 27/18.

Division three: Warragul (3) lost to Yinnar 78/95.

David Gatewood, Marg Keeffe, Chris Wilkins and Mark Hall defeated T. Roche’s team 26/19. Ruth Waring, Matt Draisma, Dave Lawrence and Ken Taylor lost to R. (2) defeated Fox’s team 23/25. Gary Thomas, Flynn Pallot, Barry Downer and Eric Porter lost to T. Berryman’s team 17/28. Brian Kennedy, Ken Brown, Elsie Hefford and Len Duncan lost to T. Shore’s team 12/23.

Division five: Warragul (4) lost to Morwell (4) 63/75

Jean Kydd, Greg Mitchell, David Anderson and Vin Roche lost to D. Coleman’s team 17/36. Freda Lay, Lindsay Matthews, Bill Clark and David Piggin defeated K. Foley’s team 34/12. Wilf Boscombe, Fletcher Pallot, May Baldwin and Mike Cousens lost to T. Curtis’ team 12/27. Division six: Warragul (5) had a bye. Pennant takes a break on Saturday.
