Guns stolen from safe
Five rifles and a shotgun have been stolen from a rural property at Ripplebrook last week.
The occupant was away from the house when the burglary occurred between Sunday and Thursday.
Baw Baw CIU detectives are investigating the burglary where offenders forced open a door to the Westernport Rd home.
Detectives said offenders carefully searched all cupboards and drawers in the house.
Offenders located the gun safe and removed five rifles, a shotgun and a large quantity of ammunition. An unregistered stock trailer also was stolen. Detectives are urging rural property owners to be aware of suspicious vehicles, particularly in the Ripplebrook, Athlone and Bunyip areas.
Detectives said rural residents and property owners should be aware of people acting suspiciously in the area, particularly on properties where there may be unoccupied dwellings or old sheds and dairies.
X-Box games and controllers were stolen from the Drouin Library last week.
Offenders gained access to the library in Princes Way, Drouin just before 4am last Monday.
Police said offenders stole 21 X-Box games, four controllers and a charger.
