Discover India was formed when a South Indian girl and a North Indian guy met in Melbourne.
That’s the story of the owners, Sunny and Tanya.
Sunny, the passionate chef, traveller and foodie and his better half Tanya, front of the house, traveller and foodie.
The menu is the index of the relationship between Sunny and Tanya as it covers the whole of India from north to south.
You will find authentic lamb Rogan Josh of Kashmir to lamb Madras of Chennai, Kashmiri rice to Biryani.
They serve you fresh authentic food made out of local produce and freshly ground spices specially imported from India.
The term curry describes the mix of spices. Indian cooking is complicated and time consuming as different spices need to be roasted and ground to give the dish a perfect flavour of its ingredients and meat... several methods are used including simmering, frying and steaming.
In Northern India, Tandoori is a traditional style of preparing meat and other food.
A Tandoor is an earthernware oven over high heat. This method cooks food very quickly and is also used for making Naan bread. All the dishes with shimmering sauces, bright spices, belly-warming bevvies and complex condiments, which makes Indian food one of the world’s favourite cuisines.
