Market report for 24th and 25th January, 2018 Wednesday Fat Sale 367 head. Thursday Bull and Cow Sale, 6 bulls, 50 cows.
A short week with the Australia Day break on Friday saw less head yarded on both Wednesday and Thursday. The Wednesday fat sale contained 367 head which was predominantly vealers. Prices were firm to stronger especially in the heavier pens as there were no bullocks on offer. 16 heifers made to 303.2, up 40 and averaged 257.8, up 16. There were 22 steers penned and reached 279.2, firm and average was 15 cents up at 253. 329 vealers sold to a top of 325.6, back 4 and averaged 278.9, back 7.

Dairy Australia is holding a session in South Gippsland for women interested in power, as part of the Women in Dairy discussion groups.
The event will discuss renewable energy alternatives for dairy farmers and will feature guest speaker, Lindsay Anderson.
Lindsay will share his experience using renewable energy at his dairy.
The discussion group will be held on Friday, February 2, 11.30am to 2pm at Leongatha Community House, 16 Bruce St
