Bunyip 6/181 def Warragul 6/175 (cc) A spirited fight back from Bunyip’s Peter Duffus and Ben Stewart saw the Bulls overcome Warragul in an entertaini­ng clash on their home turf.

At 5/46 the home side were in trouble early in their run chase before Duffus and Stewart launched an offensive attack that saw them put on 106 runs to bring their team back into the contest.

Duffus (54) recorded his third half century of the season before being dismissed with his side still 24 runs shy of the target. Stewart (68 not out) continued to go after the bowlers, steering Bunyip to a hard-fought win in the 36th over.

Paddy Mulqueen capped off a successful day snaring 3/40 with Amandeep Singh chipping in with 2/23.

Earlier on Mulqueen top-scored for the Gulls with a watchful 62. Daniel Whitten (33) combined with Mulqueen in a 97-run partnershi­p that was a highlight of the visitor’s innings. Liam Bow finished with a valuable 26 not out.

Brendan Agnoleto (2/22) and Jake Stewart (2/27) were the pick of the bowlers.

Jindivick win thriller

Jindivick 10/119 def Hallora 10/114 Jindivick held off a determined Hallora to take the points in a thrilling contest.

Having been sent in to bat the Jumping Jacks struggled to get going against the new ball, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Steven Fricke (20) showed some early resistance while Steven McGillivra­y proved to be the mainstay of the innings with a gritty 45.

Michael Harrison made the early breakthrou­ghs to finish with 4/23 off eight overs while Clint Hickford (2/10) and Gary Donoghue (2/29) helped to clean up the tail.
