Division 6

- By Adam Johnson

Western Park 5/187 def Hallora 10/182 A hard-hitting century from Shaun Kleeven was not enough to get Hallora across the line in their clash with Western Park.

Despite a horror start that left the Kangas reeling at 4/9, Kleeven pounced on anything slightly loose, despatching the bowlers to all parts of the ground.

Western Park continued to chip away at the home side and found some welcome relief when Kleeven reached the retirement mark of 50.

This was short lived however with Kleeven returning to the crease late in the day and picking up where he left off. He was the last wicket to fall having amassed an amazing 20 fours and five sixes to finish with 123.

Kyle Baker struck the early blows for the Warriors to finish with 3/32 while John Laffy returned 2/32.

In reply, the visitors made a good start, forming handy partnerships.

Raman Gautam looked set to make it three 50’s from three innings before a loose shot saw him dismissed for 36. Elliot Kennedy looked untroubled, dominating the scoring before retiring not out on 50.

Chris Wettenhall (33*) helped carry his side to victory along with Matt Roberts (23*), who struck two big sixes to finish the match.
