Mother and daughter win pairs

Mother and daughter duo Samantha and Sheryl Atkinson won Drouin Bowling Club’s women’s championship pairs.

They defeated Denise Hamilton and Jan Aubrey in a very well fought match with a close outcome of four shots up.

The spectators were enthralled with the exceptionally high standard of the game, with the score neck and neck to the end.

Tuesday Pennant

The winners of best rink this week were Maureen Leighton’s team from division one with 23 shots up.

Division one play away at Traralgon RSL. They had a win of 21 shots up over all, 57/78, 3/10. The three rinks had a fruit salad, one win, one loss and a draw. Results: M Leighton (skip), S Atkinson, C Jeffrey and L Firth won 13/36.

M Schofield (skip), M Rhodes, J Leighton and G Aubrey lost 23/21.

D Hamilton (skip), J Aubrey, L Jeffrey and L Innes drew 21/21.

Division two played at home to Traralgon RSL. They lost by 10 shots over all, 58/68, 2/14. Results: I Dawson (skip), D Hone, L Rippon and L Fox won 30/22.

T Cole (skip), G Price, B Thorpe and H Gaff lost 17/21.

J Woolard (skip), C Attrill, P Hone and E Thorpe lost 11/25.

Division four played at home to Traralgon. They lost by only five shots over all 43/48, 2/8. Results: K Dixon (skip), M Hogan, I Haughton and M Brunet won 25/21.

J Caulfield (skip), S Woodville, T McFadzean and P Yeo lost 18/27.
