Golf day to benefit Autism research
This year’s Ficifolia Festival charity golf day will benefit Austism research.
Now the guardians of their 12-year-old grandson who has autism, Vin and Judy Bibby have arranged the event that will support the Amaze Foundation.
The Amaze organisation aims for a society respects the dignity of every person on the autism spectrum, and offers every person on the autism spectrum real opportunities to participate and contribute.
The charity golf day at Drouin Golf Club in aid of autism research will be held on Sunday, February 4 with several local businesses supporting the event.
Men’s and women’s 18-hole stableford events will carry a first prize to the value of $200, with other prizes for nearest the pin mystery hole, longest and straightest drives.
Entry cost $25, register by noon for a 1pm shotgun start. Early entries are appreciated and can be made with Anthony at Drouin Golf Club pro shop, phone 5625 4985 or 0437 568 285.
The event will include raffles, silent auction and more, with lunch available before play.
All Abilities disco
The Cassidy Crew will host its third annual disco dance as part of Drouin’s Ficifolia Festival.
Put your party shoes on and dance away at the All Abilities disco to be held at Bellbird Park on Wednesday, February 7.
It will run from 10am until 2pm at the Drouin cricket clubrooms. Cost to attend is $5 and includes morning tea, drinks and a showbag. Bring your own lunch. Patrons are encouraged to wear fluro. Sponsored by the Cassidy Crew, the disco is expected to attract a large audience.
