Showcasing local authors

Warragul Library will showcase 10 local authors who live in Baw Baw Shire on February 13.

The featured authors will each have a fiveminute platform to share their work, read an excerpt, or profile themselves. They will then have the opportunity to network in a supportive setting.

West Gippsland Libraries board member Cr Keith Cook said the event aimed to highlight the talent of local authors throughout the region.

“It’s important to acknowledge the depth of talent that we have within the Baw Baw Shire community,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to bringing our local authors together and providing them with an opportunity to share their work.”

“We also hope this event serves as motivation to people who have always wanted to start writing and just need some ideas and inspiration to get started.”

Local authors attending the event include Jim Connelly, Tristan Throup, Pauline MacKinnon, Alex Petrov, Krystal Alexander, Deanna Gunning, Dominic Finley, Eleanor Hatswell, Richard Pitt and Ilana Leeds.

Community members interested in learning more and supporting our local literary talent are invited to attend the showcase, which will be held at Warragul Library between 6.30pm and 8pm.
