Life governor award for David

-

West Gippsland Healthcare Group has presented a life governor award to long serving obstetrician David Simon for his outstanding contribution to healthcare.

Dr Simon will officially leave WGHG in March after 20 years of service.

Warrick Pill has taken up the position of clinical lead for obstetrics and Carolyn Wilde is clinical lead for gynaecology.

WGHG chief executive officer Dan Weeks said the new team was well placed to further build obstetrics and gynaecology care offered by the West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

Dr Pill is dual qualified as a physiotherapist and obstetrics and gynaecology consultant and has been working with WGHG since 2015. Dr Wilde has been with WGHG as a consultant since 2013.

Two new consultants, Hayley Messenger and Alexander Bonner are also set to join the team this month.

WGHG’s obstetrics team is also supported by GP obstetricians who work in local practices and provide services to support the WGHG program.

Vehicles from across the state will bring a rumble to the town for its annual Show N Shine on Sunday.

The annual event, which is run by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Koo wee rup and Lang Lang, raises money for the Lang Lang aged care facility project.

This year’s event will see vehicles from various categories descend onto the Lang Lang showgrounds to showcase the best bodywork, paint job, interior and overall vehicle of the day.
