Bigger and better Ficifolia Art Show

-

The Ficifolia Art Show in Drouin seems to get bigger and better every year.

The 2018 art show promises to live up to its reputation of being one of the best regional art shows in Victoria with a huge range of paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, woodcraft and fibre art on show.

It will be held in the Drouin Football Clubrooms from Thursday to Sunday.

The art show is annually held in February as part of the Drouin Ficifolia Festival. It is timed to celebrate the wonderful flowering of the Ficifolia trees that line Drouin’s main streets.

While the art show has taken place in a variety of venues over the years since its beginning in 1988, for the last four years it has been held in the Drouin Football Clubrooms in a partnership with the Baw Baw Arts Alliance.

This year marks the sixth year of Baw Baw Arts Alliance’s coordination, making this a true community partnership and a unique way to showcase the fine facilities of the Drouin Football Clubrooms.

Set aside time to enjoy all that the festival has to offer, especially the extensive range of artwork in the exhibition.

Opening night and awards presentation is Thursday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the door.

The exhibition is then open daily from 10am to 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
