Buln take empahtic win

-

Trevor Gardiner – to make it to double figures.

In reply, Keily followed up his exploits with the ball with a stunning unbeaten knock of 120; his performance with the willow ensuring that his dominance will go down in Longwarry history as one of the finer all-round displays.

He helped Longwarry post 220 before they were dismissed – with Dale Weller ensuring a smidge of respectability with a haul of 5-71.

Drouin were forced to bat again and were again in early trouble, slumping to 3-8, but Gardiner’s knock of 89 helped the Hawks to 5137 in their second innings.

Western Park (272) def. Ellinbank (126):

A trio of half-centuries to Mat Wakefield, Jason Croft and Sam Batson helped Western Park post a wining total in their encounter with Ellinbank; the Warriors depth proving too much for the Eagles to overcome.

After a 55-run opening stand dominated by Sam Russell – who struck a bright 31 at the top of the order – Croft (55), Wakefield (59) and Batson (a 39-ball 52) enjoyed their time at the crease and ensured that there would be no repeat of the batting woes from last weekend.

Nicholas Fairbank (2-34 from 18) and Jeremy Gray (3-58 off 21) toiled away with the ball and helped restrict the scoring somewhat, but the eventual total proved too much for Ellinbank to handle.

Troy Ferguson hit a typically boundary-laden 37 in an attempt to ignite the run-chase but the considerable pressure built up by Batson (3-41 off 21) and Croft (323 from 11) was too much for the Eagles. They were eventually dismissed for 126 in the 59th over, ensuring that their potential passage in to the top four was made all the more difficult.
