Drouin too strong for Jindivick

-

Good starts from Sean McCormack (18) and Basil Kehayas (18) along with Lenders’ inspiring knock helped the home side post a winning total.

Jacob Kleeven bowled a good line to finish with 3/25 with Darren Welford (2/18) enjoying success with the new ball.

In reply, the visitor struggled early and the introduction of Lenders (4/26) and Lachlan Howard (2/18) into the attack ensured the batsmen were never able to get away.

Bradley Ward dug in for a lengthy stay and finished with 25 not out while Jeff Ward made a valuable 36 late in the day.

Bransgrove snares five

Western Park 6/129 def Ellinbank 10/127 A five-wicket haul to Western Park’s Toby Bransgrove has helped the Warriors to another convincing win, this time over Ellinbank.

Choosing to bat first the Eagles got away to a flying start with Stuart Davis (38) and Mathew Dare (34) striking boundaries to all parts of the ground.

It all ground to a halt however as Bransgrove (5/23) and James McKellar (4/17) tore through the line-up preventing any other batsmen from reaching double figures.

In reply, Michael Modaffari led from the front, scoring in his usual fashion (five fours and three sixes) before retiring not out on 52.

Sam Cougle (19) and Toby Murfet (14) helped get the Warriors home after just 21 overs.

Ryan McGuiness (2/38) and Jack Logan (2/6) were the best of the bowlers.
